For information, contact Gail Ramsey at Dots: The Cool Kids MusicalĪrcadia University’s Theater Program is hosting five performances of "Polka Dots: The Cool Kids Musical," for an audience that the school describes as “local children and their adults.” The show is an hour-long musical that tells the story of Lily, an eight-year-old polka dot struggling to fit in at her new school, where only squares are accepted. At last year’s event, the college’s students inspired more than 400 people to register as organ donors. The event will feature refreshments, music, finger painting and games, as well as speakers and representatives from Gift of Life to raise awareness of the importance of organ registration. Airy Art Garage is at 7054 Germantown Ave.Ĭhestnut Hill College, the Media and Communication program and Griffin PR, will host the Students Save Lives College Challenge on behalf of Gift of Life at 2 p.m., April 11, outdoors at Fournier Circle. Audience members can bring snacks and drinks (alcoholic and otherwise) to the venue which will be set up like a cabaret with tables and chairs. ![]() Admission is $15 ($10 for members of the Art Garage). ![]() The series will feature musicians, poets, spoken word artists, comics and other creatives. The first performance will feature local singer Phyllis Chapell, along with the international music of Melanie and the Lost Vaqueros who will perform at every session. Airy Art Garage is hosting a new community performance series on the second Tuesday of every month, starting April 11.
